Rubella test in pregnancy
As on today my wife is 10week 4days pregnant. As my nephew has rubella syndrome and wife is not vaccinated. I insisted the doctor for rubella test.  Unfortunately as per report dated 28.08.18,rubella IgM-equivocal(0.87) IgG-positive.  Doctor asked for avidity test. As per report dated 02.09.18 IgM is 0.74(negative) and IgG is greater than 200and IgG with the  avidity was high(96.97percent). Same report test was done on 5.09.18.IgM was negative IgG was 495. Pls guide  us on the matter.

High avidity suggests past infection.I suggest detailed level 2 anomaly scan at 18 weeks. Most probably things should be fine.In case you are too worried ..can go for amniotic fluid PCR but that would put risk to baby.Share report of 18 weeks scan and then decide on amniocentesis. You can connect with me for online consultation for any details.
