Semen analysis : My husband
Hello Doctors,
Warm greetings.
We were planning for a baby and in that journey we got both our basic tests done as suggested by family and friends.
For my husband below are the semen analysis test results -

Sperm count - 10.0 million /ml
Motility-
Actively motile - 20
Sluggish motile - 70
Non motile - 10
Can you please explain and suggest a bit regarding these results.

The morphology of sperm is also mentioned in the report. That is also a significant factor.
This is an average report. You should consult with your Gynaecologist. He may advise some treatment for your husband too.

The parameters that you have mentioned suggests that the sperm count and motility are low. The morphology is not mentioned. The semen parameters vary depending on the period of abstinence before giving the sample for analysis. There are also many other reasons for low count and motility.
If you are planning for a pregnancy, it is better to visit a fertility specialist and undergo evaluation as a couple, so that treatment options can be decided based on both you tests.
