Shingles / Herpes Zoster
Hi, I have just started to recover from shingles on my right side of stomach, hips, and lower back. Blisters have turned to scabs and are falling off. It has been 8 days since rashes first appeared. Was on a 7 day course of Valcyclovir.
I wanted to know how long will the pain last? Certain spots are still very painful, with a stabbing kind of nerve pain. Some spots are painful when pressed although the skin is clear on the outside. I've been told pain continues even after the rashes go away. But for how long? I'd hate to get PHN. Just want to know what to realistically expect.
