Shoulder pain
I have persistent pain in both shoulders and neck, headache and many a times find difficult to concentrate on things. I am told it's cervical spondylosis. It started immediately after I went thru a kidney stone removal procedure at R G Urology in 2013. Pain sometimes subsides when I do shoulder exercise but many a times it remains even if I am exercising on regular basis. What is this issue and how to get rid of any in muscles of shoulder and neck?

Persistent pain in neck could be due to cervical spondylosis, bad neck posture, muscle weakness. Headache and shoulder pain often occurs when there is neck muscle spasm (in upper trapezius muscle). Shoulder pain could be due to shoulder pathology or due to neck muscle spasm or radiating pain caused by nerve compression at neck. Consult a nearby orthopaedician for thorough examination and diagnosis. If it is cervical spondylitis, shoulder exercises will not help. You need to consult physiotherapist to: 1) strengthen neck muscles (cervical isometric exercises) 2) stretch neck muscles if tight 3) myofascial release if there is muscle spasm 4) postural correction 5) work ergonomics to prevent strain on spine. Treatment for shoulder pain will depend on the diagnosis.
Health Tips
Avoid working continuously. Take break after every 2-3 hours during work. Apply regular hot water fomentation to relax neck and shoulder muscles.

Persistent neck and shoulder pain usually is usually due to cervical spondylitis or due to shoulder pathology. An x ray of the neck will show if you have cervical spondylitis. A MRI of the shoulder would be required to see the shoulder pathology.
Next Steps
Should visit a orthopaedic surgeon for examination
