Side effects of ECT
I suffer from Depression and Anxiety. My psychiatrist suggested Electro Convulsive therapy ( ECT). I have taken 6 sessions of ECT so far. 3 sessions in a span of 10 days. And after a couple of months, 3 sessions in a span of 2 months. I feel that I became forgetful and I'm not able to analyze anything properly. Do ECT sessions affect the intellectual abilities of a person? If yes then how can I remedy my situation?

Hi.. though ECT causes memory deficits they are not permanent. Please consult your treating Psychiatist and discuss the same. May be the frequency is to be decreased.
