Facing this problem from 4 year nearly
and now its frequency is increasing
last night it happened 4 times in a 20 minute lap
I have got used to getting numb but it chokes my breath every time which is scary.
And what's more scary is that now I have even started hallucinating during the attack.
Is this a common phenomena or is serious.
Does it cause any permanent damage / do people die during attack
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sleep paralysis may be due to underlying causes like stress,sleep disturbances, narcolepsy,substance abuse,bipolar disorders etc....Most people need no treatment for sleep paralysis. Treating any underlying conditions such as narcolepsy may help if you are anxious or unable to sleep well Using antidepressant medication if it is prescribed to help regulate sleep cycles...I would suggest you to consult nearest psychiatrist they will do the needful.
