Sore and swollen tonsils

Asked for Female, 34 Years

I have had a terrible sore throat since Tuesday night, July 10th. I took 2-400mg ibuprofen Wednesday night and Thursday morning which helped a lot. Then I took a dose Thursday night that didn't seem to help. So I took 200mg more and it seemed to make it worse. I woke up Friday morning and it hurts like heck. Should I up the ibuprofen dose or switch pain reliever?
