The reports you have provided are incomplete. There are no details of the child's condition. Myelomeningocele has a wide spectrum with many variations. Each variant has different treatment. But the basic underlying principle of treatment is to repair the dural defect and untether the spinal cord. Unless I see the MRI images and the child is very difficult to opine.
