I consulted many doctors for my father spinal problem. He even can't walk for a half km. He has heavy back pain. Many doctors suggested for surgery. But we don't want to go for surgery at the age of 63. Because if it get success than it will be good otherwise he will be in bed rest for the whole life. That we don't want. That's why we have fear. Please suggest what I can do? Other than surgery, any alternative treatment available suggest me. Otherwise suggest me a good spine doctors who can give me an assurance.

According to me you should try physiotherapy. As physiotherapy helps in dealing with back pains by machines, manual therapy, kinesiotaping etc as well as exercises and it will also help in making patient more functional. Its a wise decision to avoid surgeries at this age as the success rates of spine surgeries are not good. So its better to consider this alternative as there are reseaches proving physical therapy to be very much effective in treating long lasting back aches.
