Sputum culture test report
My uncle (age 62) had mild fever irregular basis for about a month and also observed weight loss (6 kg in 4 months). I am getting worried as nothing is getting clear on fever. Attached the report of sputum culture. pls tell if anything positive in the report has to do with the fever.

1. There is infection with the organism called klebsiella.
2. According to the culture report few antibiotics are sensitive which means it can work against the organism, the ones that show resistant won’t work.
3. Since it has been a month and long standing fever he might be having pneumonia.
4. My best advice is to consult a pulmonologist and get admitted in a hospital and start IV antibiotics. Also so that they can do further follow up with blood investigations, imaging and repeat culture if needed.
