I had done extensive lower body exercise the day before and had sore hamstrings and thigh muscles post that the next day so Didnt workout the next day. 2 nights after that i woke up in the morning with a sharp pain in the lower knee (while touching and bending) and slight swelling. What could be the reason and solution for this?

For now, apply Ice packs. Apply pain relief spray. Give rest to the painful areas. Strap the affected areas of they are too painful.

Your muscles could be sore just because of extensive excercise..
Take rest
Take nsaid like Hifnac p twice a day for 3-5 days
This will decrease pain and swelling..
Avoid doing heavy excercise all of sudden
Build up slowly
