Hello On sun gazing, ultraviolet light from sun enters the eye and focussed on retina .....retina is light-sensitive tissue lining the inner surface of the eye. Once absorbed into the retina, the UV rays result in the formation of free radicals. These free radicals start to oxidize the surrounding tissues and  destroy the rod and cond photoreceptors in the retina. The oxidative damage is referred to as solar or photic retinopathy. Symptoms may not come immediately....it may take 12-24 hours to appreciate eye symptoms
