Both of these conditions are controllable and not fully curable as such. For migraine these following steps may help:
- Avoid eating foods with nitrates such as hot dogs, deli meats, bacon, and sausage
- Avoid food such as chocolate, cheese, blue, feta, cheddar, Parmesan, Swiss cheese, alcohol especially red wine, foods that contain monosodium glutamate (MSG), a flavor enhancer
foods that are very cold such as ice cream or iced drinks
processed foods, pickled foods, beans, dried fruits, cultured dairy products such as buttermilk, sour cream, and yogurt
- Inhaling lavender essential oil may ease migraine pain.
- Apply a menthol solution to the forehead and temples has shown to give relief.
- Having food items such as ginger, almonds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, Brazil nuts, cashews, peanut butter, oatmeal, eggs and milk
- Destress with practices such as yoga, meditation
- Sleep properly with a minimum of 8 hours of sleep at night.
- When attacks of migraine come sitting in a dark silent room has shown to give relief.
For hypothyroidism these following steps may help:
- Have a balanced diet of whole grains, beans, lean proteins, and colorful fruits and vegetables
- Avoid soy products, Soy may hinder the absorption of
thyroid hormones. If you drink or eat too many soy products, you may not be able to properly absorb your medication.
- Fiber may interfere with hormone absorption, Fiber is important, so donât avoid it entirely. Instead, avoid taking your medicine within several hours of eating high-fiber foods.
- If you take supplements or medications in addition to thyroid medicine, try to take these medicines at different times. Other medications can interfere with absorption, so itâs best to take your thyroid medicine on an empty stomach and without other medicines or foods.
- Reduce stress by methods such as yoga/meditation/tai-chi
- Get proper sleep, an adult body requires 6-8 hours of sleep a day to function well
