It could be due to deep bite or bcoz un balanced occlusion where the condyles are not closing properly. U need take one OPG and consult one oral medicine and radiologist. Use pain killer n soft splint would be beneficial
Next Steps
use pain killer n muscle relaxants like cyclohexazone
You need to visit the dentist for a proper clinical evaluation and TMJ view X rays will be required for assessing the damage that has happened to the joint. The right treatment can be suggested after that. But we prefer to follow only conservative methods when it comes to treating tmj arthrosis. Most likely you will be advised night Guards to be worn daily so that the forces being borne by the joints can be buffered.

TM joint pain with clicking happens when the disc is not synchronous with condyle movements per se. The joint mechanism is such that when you chew on right side the left joint gets maximum load.
Next Steps
chew strictly soft diet for 3 weeks
Avoid excessive mouth opening or the click
chew both sides
Do hot foamentation for 15 min twice daily
