Patchy hair loss is likely to be alopecia areata.  Often the first line treatment suggested is small quantity of injections into the patches once in three weeks for three sittings atleast.  This along with  daily use of lotions may help in restoring hair.  Warm regards Dr Govind Suresh Mittal, Bengaluru.
