Normally ulcers take 7 to 10 days to heal. Unfortunately the discomfort does remain through this time. Apart from all the medication you are taking, application of any over the counter ulcer gel (mucopain/ dologel/ orasep) will help. Also mucaine syrup swirled in the mouth gives relief from ulcers. Another home remedy you can try is warm saline rinses. Take a glass of warm.water, put a spoon of salt and gargle. If these ulcers are a recurring problem visit your dentist to figure out the exact cause so it can be controlled.
