Please expose him to classical music for few minutes each day , this will automatically improve his focus .not necessary that he should learn but a Tanpura all the time playing in background also helps improve focus has been proven scientifically

It's not uncommon for children to get bored. Infact human mind is not designed to focus for more than forty minutes..
So please encourage your child with positive statements and avoid scolding and negative statements. Try to be happy and model positive behaviours.

start breaking his lessons to 30 min study periods with breaks.. break needs to be atleast 15 minutes.
encourage even small achievements. Try to teach him when he fails rather than ridiculing or scolding..
