It's okay to swallow some amount of the spray. The correct way would be to place the nozzle inside your nose, and take a quick, deep breath simultaneously as you're pressing the container. This will minimise the amount of drug entering your mouth.

You need to know the correct application of the nasal spray by consulting your physician for the most effective action. Regardless , it can come to the throat leading to Bitter sensation.( I myself had experienced it) .

If you don't spray straight, you will waste the medicine and may cause more irritation in your nose and drip in throat
