Viral fever-antibiotics required or not
From last 2 days my 1 and half year baby is having fever. Suddenly fever started and he is not having any cold symptoms. I've given calpol 250 dosage. Last time doctor suggested novamox 250 oral suspension for viral fever, is it safe to give Novamox antibiotics during fever.

Most of such illnesses are viral in origin.. antibiotics like amoxicillin have no role here. It should only be added if a cbc blood check shows a bacterial infection profile .. that also is done only if the fever has lasted for more than 3 days.. only calpol in appropriate dose is fine. Rgds
Next Steps
No novamox required.
