Visible Mass post Cancer treatment
Just wondering if anyone was left with a mass after chemo and radiation? My dads oncologist (both medical and radiation) see a mass with no metabolic activity, both said it might be a scar tissue. They said treatment response is positive. Is it common for a residual mass to appear on imaging scans even after successful treatment? Has anyone had this happen and what were the results?

Hi..Good evening..The mass which is appearing after chemo radiation can be post treatment fibrosis as it takes a few months for the visible mass to completely regress.Since its not showing any metabolic activity, its very likely that the cancer cells are no longer present in the mass. However, regular follow up needs to be done to ascertain the complete tumor response.
