Your prolonged weakness and lethargy may be caused by underlying nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, or metabolic and psychological issues. Key culprits in a lactovegetarian diet include vitamin B12, iron, and vitamin D deficiencies, which can cause fatigue and muscle weakness. Other possibilities include hypothyroidism, low testosterone, or conditions like chronic fatigue syndrome or insulin resistance. Poor sleep or stress may also play a role. Investigations: Blood tests for CBC, iron studies, thyroid profile, vitamin B12/D, and testosterone levels. Check fasting glucose, HbA1c, and lipid profile. Management: Improve diet: Increase protein, iron, and B12 intake (consider supplements). Exercise: Prioritize strength training and moderate aerobic activity. Ensure good sleep hygiene and manage stress with yoga or meditation.
