Already an episode of pain has been reported by you so why delay and wait for another episode of pain. Better to get it removed, and a dentist would suggest removal if that teeth can not be saved based on clinical picture and X ray both. So if a dentist has advised removal go for it or if you are keen to save your wisdom tooth get it treated.

Hello..wisdom teeth as such are not useful for chewing food instead if they are not properly aligned they cause food lodgemnt, decay to adjacent tooth etc..so if its causing pain better to go for removal to prevent recurrence of pain.In your opg ,lower left back wisdom teeth can also cause decay of adjacent tooth,go for removal if it is painful.

Hi. A wisdom tooth that gives recurrent pain due to swelling of the gums around it should be removed. A wisdom tooth may also pain due to root infection from a deep cavity. In such a case, it can be saved by root canal treatment but it should be done only if the wisdom tooth is serving some function in the mouth and not harming other teeth. Otherwise it should be removed.
