About a month ago, I finally decided to visit a psychologist to address my mental health. It took a lot of courage for a first timer, but my experience with her was so pathetic that it will take some time before I can make up my mind again. First of all, I had to wait for more than half an hour till I finally got to see her. This built up more anxiety and nervousness in me. When I was called for the session, I noticed two ******** sitting on a bench beside the door. I was startled why these people were sitting in a room for a therapy session as it's meant to be completely confidential and a patient comes with the thought of keeping their privacy intact. Upon asking, Ms Shweta casually told me that they are interns and they'll be sitting through the session. To which I said that I wasn't comfortable and that's when they were asked to leave. Now my session started very abruptly because I didn't know how to go about it and I was not given any instructions on how the session would unfold. So I had to ask that myself. From the beginning I didn't feel comfortable and the interruptions in-between the sessions made it worse. Ms Shweta was calling on phone to ask for green tea, water, scheduling other appointments and even the support staff kept entering the room and the counsellor expected me to continue speaking in front of them. I was disappointed but I still kept going without raising it. And before I could take a moment to understand what her inputs were, she said that we need to wrap the session and listed the same things on paper that I had been telling her from my side. So all-in-all after more than half an hour of waiting, the session barely lasted for 30 minutes. Neither could I share everything and neither did she provide her inputs in a professional way.
To sum it up, here's why I say my experience was pathetic:
- Lack of professionalism throughout the session
- Breach of privacy
- Interruptions during the session
- Less time for deep dive into the challenges that I was going through

okay here goes:
I've been going to shweta ma'am for about 1.5 years, and I'm a lot grown now from where I used to be.
She's a person who will push you to be the best version of yourself you can be. And her way of doing is personalised to whatever helps you the best at that time. She's very skilled as a therapist, skilled at reading the sub-text in your sentences. Wait time for her sessions is a little bit high, but hey, I got used to it over time. She's good at what she does, and I'll totally recommend her.
Quirks aside, she's going to help you at a very deep level, as deep as you're willing to look in. 10/10 recommend!

Highly unprofessional staff and psychologist
Met couple of parents feedback same across. ******* ******* ******* *** **** *** *********** *** ***** **** ********* *******. When I said I would leave the review online the psychologist ********** *** said I ill share the link you give the feedback .
You book a direct appointment and when u reach their staff will give u terms and conditions from practo to cover up the unavailability of Psychologist. Even with the confirmed appointment psychologist was not traceable till we reached as per the argument which I had at reception it was then clarified on the traceability.
While we agreed to wait after speaking to Ms Shweta we were interacting with other parents at the clinic staff became conscious and called up the psychologist who then went into a argument and we were asked to leave. ** ** ******* ** ***** ****** ****** *** ****** ***** ** *** ******* ******* Please aviod going to this centre. * **** ** ******** ** *** ****
I wish I or my wife should have gone through the review before going I would have surely got the appointment cancelled.

Dr. Shweta has been my psychologist since march 2021.
The adjustments she made in me and the times she was there for me despite deadlines and commitments. She has been there for me and has helped me through every stage and problem I have faced during this time. She has been a huge assistance to me in getting out of my unspoken problems.
She helps me feel comfortable and safe during our sessions. She gives me the confidence to push past my fears, leave my comfort zone, and grow into a stronger version of myself. She is my safe space. She is the reason I am able to make decisions on my own without second-guessing myself, and she helped me unlearn some of my destructive habits. I am really appreciative of her. She has never made me feel alone and has always talked me out of making irrational decisions or having internal problems.
For people who find it difficult to go out and find someone who will talk to them without passing judgement and who will truly help instead of pressuring and being toxic, I'd absolutely recommend her.

Hoped for better: Wait time
After days of trying to get an appointment with Ms. Shweta Sharma, I finally managed to get evening time slot. Owing to my defense background, I reached the hospital 15 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment time. To my surprise, the doctor made me wait for more than an hour. I started noticing the hospital staff leaving for the day and it was then when i got slightly impatient and restless. There was no executive assistant at the hospital who could inform or update me regarding the delay. In my opinion this was a show of unprofessional behavior on the part of Ms. Shweta Sharma towards her (potential) patient. It is unfair to make patients wait for hours when their appointment page clearly mentions "max waiting time of 30 minutes". Poorly trained staff, overscheduling, slow check-ins are some factors which contribute towards increased wait times, specially at the Manipal Hospital. Ms. Shweta Sharma refused to attend to me after i confronted her about the long waiting period. Overall, a very poor experience.
