I've been dealing with IBS(gut issues) morethan 10 yrs, and had consulted many doctors, following gastroenterologist advise i consult a psychiatrists, in my hometown, but the experience was really bad. Their medicines didn't show any improvement in my condition even after a year of treatment. When I asked them why I wasn't seeing any improvement, they would criticise me, it was all in my mind and that I was overthinking it, stop thinking. When I inquired about consulting a dietician or exploring homeopathy or Ayurveda since their treatments(Allopathy) weren't effective, they dismissed these options, insisting that nothing else would work, and I should stick to their prescribed medicines. It became evident that their main goal was to keep me on medications, likely to maximize their profits. Blaming patients for their inefficiencies in treating.
Frustrated with these experiences, I decided to consult Dr. Swetha ma'am. She listened to me patiently, and when I questioned why I should see a psychiatrist when my issue was related to my gut, not my mind, she explained the clear connection between gut and brain. She carefully reviewed all the medications I had used, inquired about their effectiveness, and then prescribed one medication initially with low does, gradually adding another while emphasizing that we would reduce them as I showed improvement. and clear all my doubts politely.
It has been 5 years since I started treatment with Dr. Swetha ma'am. From the beginning, ma'am stressed that these medications don't do miracles, they give a support and IBS improves through lifestyle changes, dietary modifications, and work parallelly with a dietician. Although I didn't initially consult a dietician, as I was misled by some early doctors and didn't dare to explore other options. When Dr. Swetha ma'am meds worked for me, I'm happy with it. I don't want to explore other options. As I'm fed up of consulting to many doctors.
But Since last 2 years, I am seeing dieticians, functional med practitioners as I'm having hairfall, Fortunately, my gut issues improved a lot, and whatever Swetha ma'am told me since begin was absolutely correct, to work parallelly with dieticians And ma'am was able to reduce 70% of my medications over the time, I can't help but regret not following ma'am advice earlier and seeking guidance from a good dietician as she initially suggested.
Balancing Swetha ma'am meds and good diets helped me. But still need improvement.
We have a very few gem of doctors out there one among them is Dr. Swetha ma'am who prioritize patients' healing and overall well-being over merely prescribing multiple medications for a lifetime.
I'm truly thankful for Dr. Swetha ma'am expertise and commitment to my well-being.
I'm highly indebted to Dr. Swetha ma'am for taking care of my gut issues.
I highly recommend ma'am.
