Echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart that helps your doctor to monitor how your heart and its valves are functioning. The test produces live images of heart by using sound waves.

Echocardiography is needed for diagnosis, management and follow-up of patients with any suspected or known heart diseases like myocardial infarction, cardiac failure, cardiomyopathies, valve abnormalities and congenital heart defects.
