Description

Agilevo 750 MG Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that contains Levofloxacin. It is used for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting the lungs, skin and urinary tract (kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra). Agilevo 750 MG Tablet is effective against a large number of bacteria. It cures the infection by killing or stopping the growth of bacteria. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Agilevo 750 MG Tablet can cause side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Agilevo 750 MG Tablet can cause muscle damage, usually in your ankle. Agilevo 750 MG Tablet can be taken with or without food around the same time every day. Once you start treatment with Agilevo 750 MG Tablet, it is recommended to finish the entire course to prevent the development of bacterial resistance. Agilevo 750 MG Tablet should be avoided during pregnancy due to the risk of severe side effects on the joints of the developing foetus. Consult your doctor before using Agilevo 750 MG Tablet if you are breastfeeding. Avoid using Agilevo 750 MG Tablet if you have kidney, liver problems as it can worsen your condition. Agilevo 750 MG Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness and alter your eyesight. Hence, do not drive vehicles or do anything that requires your alertness after taking this tablet. Avoid taking antacids or dairy products like milk or curd for at least two hours before and after taking Agilevo 750 MG Tablet as it may interact with them.

What is it prescribed for?

Urinary tract infections

Bacteria may cause infection in any part of your urinary system (the kidneys, bladder and urethra). The symptoms associated with these infections are pain, swelling, difficulty in urinating, nausea and vomiting. Agilevo 750 MG Tablet is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.

Skin and soft tissue infections

Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. Agilevo 750 MG Tablet is used to treat all skin infections including abscesses caused by bacteria.

Respiratory tract infections

Respiratory tract infections caused by bacteria may show the symptoms like swelling inside your nose, airways, obstruction of airways and difficulty in breathing. Agilevo 750 MG Tablet is used to treat respiratory tract infections like bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia etc., caused by bacteria.

Inhalation Anthrax

Anthrax is a rare but serious bacterial illness caused by Bacillus anthracis. It is transmitted through air, food, and water contaminated with anthrax spores. Agilevo 750 MG Tablet is used for the treatment of inhalation anthrax that occurs when you breathe in anthrax spores.

Plague

Plague is a serious bacterial infection caused by Yersinia pestis. It is spread through contact with infected fleas. Agilevo 750 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of plague.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish the entire course of treatment with Agilevo 750 MG Tablet, even if your condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (a condition where microbes evolve mechanisms that protect them from the effects of antibiotics). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, consult your doctor.

Photosensitivity

Agilevo 750 MG Tablet may make you more sensitive to sunlight. Use sunscreens or wear protective clothing before stepping outside to avoid undesirable reactions while on treatment with this medicine.

Driving or operating machinery

Agilevo 750 MG Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness and interfere with eyesight. Avoid any activity that requires concentration like driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine.

Diarrhoea

Agilevo 750 MG Tablet can cause diarrhoea. Get emergency medical help if you experience severe diarrhoea that is watery or bloody. Consult your pharmacist/doctor before taking anti-diarrhoeal medication.

Antacids

If you are taking an antacid containing aluminium and magnesium salts for indigestion, it can increase the time it takes for Agilevo 750 MG Tablet to act on your body. Hence, it is recommended to take this antibiotic at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking antacids.

Dairy products

Dairy products like milk and curd may interfere with the absorption of Agilevo 750 MG Tablet. Hence, avoid taking dairy products 2 hours before and after taking this medicine.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Agilevo 750 MG Tablet. If you skip a dose, do not add it up to the next dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical attention if you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of Agilevo 750 MG Tablet.
