Description

Aristocillin 100 MG Drops is a penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. This antibiotic is used to treat different types of bacterial infections of the throat, lungs, nose, urinary tract and skin. Aristocillin 100 MG Drops works by stopping the bacteria to form its cell wall thereby making it weaker and die eventually. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Side effects of Aristocillin 100 MG Drops are diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin. Use it cautiously in individuals with kidney problems. Take/Administer Aristocillin 100 MG Drops on an empty stomach. You can take this medicine around the same time every day for ease of remembering. For the best results, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced times. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment.

What is it prescribed for?

Lung infections

Aristocillin 100 MG Drops is used to treat the following lung infections: 1. Pneumonia is an infection of the air sacs in the lungs (either single or both lungs). It can be bacterial and viral. Aristocillin 100 MG Drops is used to treat pneumonia caused by bacteria. 2. Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. Aristocillin 100 MG Drops is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.

Sinusitis

Sinusitis is the swelling of membranes that line your nose and surrounding sinuses. It is often caused by bacteria and sometimes, viruses and fungi. You may experience a stuffed nose and pain or pressure behind your eyes, nose, cheeks, or forehead. Aristocillin 100 MG Drops is used to treat bacterial sinusitis.

Urinary tract infections

An infection in any part of your urinary system- the kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra is called urinary tract infections (UTIs). UTIs are the most common infections in humans and woman are at greater risk of getting this infection. UTIs are caused by bacteria and in some cases, viruses or fungi. Aristocillin 100 MG Drops is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.

General warnings

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with Aristocillin 100 MG Drops, even if the condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, make an appointment to consult your doctor.

Mononucleosis

Mononucleosis is also called kissing disease is an infection caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. It is spread through saliva. People with mononucleosis may develop a maculopapular skin rash (flat and small raised bumps on the skin) after 5-10 days of treatment with Aristocillin 100 MG Drops and resolves within days of discontinuing the use. Aristocillin 100 MG Drops may not be appropriate medicine in patients with mononucleosis.

Diarrhoea

Aristocillin 100 MG Drops can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Get emergency medical help if you experience severe diarrhoea that is watery or bloody. Call your pharmacist/doctor before taking anti-diarrhoeal medication.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Aristocillin 100 MG Drops. And if a dose is skipped, do not add it up to the next dose.

Gastrointestinal Diseases

Aristocillin 100 MG Drops can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Therefore use Aristocillin 100 MG Drops with extreme caution in patients with gastrointestinal (mouth to anus) diseases, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon), since it may worsen the patient's condition.

The absorption of Aristocillin 100 MG Drops may be decreased in the presence of food. For proper absorption of the medicine, it should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after the meals.
