Description

New Torex-Mint Syrup is a combination medicine which may be used for the treatment of a cough that produces mucus or phlegm. It may also be used to treat conditions with an abnormal mucus secretion, allowing the patient to breathe freely and deeply.

What is it prescribed for?

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) due to the increased risk of serious and life-threatening side effects. A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping therapy with MAOIs and starting therapy with this medicine.

Dextromethorphan blocks the signals from the brain that trigger cough reflex and thus it helps in suppressing the cough.
