Description

Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is a penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. This antibiotic is used to treat different types of bacterial infections of the throat, lungs, ears, nose, urinary tract, and skin. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is also used with other medications to kill helicobacter pylori bacteria that cause stomach ulcers. It stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Side effects of Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT are diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin. Use it cautiously in individuals with kidney problems. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT can make birth control pills less effective. You may be asked to take a different way of birth control methods to prevent unintended pregnancy. You can take Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT with or without food. For the ease of remembering, take Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT around the same time every day. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. For the best results, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced times.

What is it prescribed for?

Acute otitis media

Otitis media (AOM), is an infection of the middle ear (the area behind the eardrum), common in infants and young children. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat acute otitis media caused by bacteria.

Sinusitis

Sinusitis is the swelling of membranes that line your nose and surrounding sinuses. It is often caused by bacteria and sometimes, viruses and fungi. You may experience a stuffed nose and pain or pressure behind your eyes, nose, cheeks, or forehead. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat bacterial sinusitis.

Lung infections

Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat the following lung infections: 1. Pneumonia is an infection of the air sacs in the lungs (either single or both lungs). It can be bacterial and viral. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat pneumonia caused by bacteria. 2. Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.

Skin and soft tissue infections

Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat all skin infections including abscess caused by bacteria.

Cystitis

Cystitis is the swelling of the urinary bladder usually caused by a bacterial infection. This is more common in women because their urethra is much shorter, which means bacteria can go into the bladder more easily. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat cystitis caused by E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci, and Klebsiella species.

Gonorrhoea

Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by Neisseria gonorrhoea bacteria that infects both men and women. It spreads during vaginal, oral or anal sex without a condom or other barrier method. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat the gonococcal infection.

Peptic Ulcer

A peptic ulcer is a sore or ulcer on the lining of your stomach or intestine. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a bacteria that cause ulcers. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used in combination with antacids/anti-ulcerative medicines for the treatment of H. pylori infections that cause peptic ulcer.

Dental Abcess

A tooth abscess is a bacterial infection that occurs from an untreated cavity, decay, or injury. Your dentist will make a small cut into the abscess to drain out the pus resulting from the infection. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat bacterial tooth infections and to stop it from spreading further.

Bacterial Endocarditis

Bacterial endocarditis is an infection in the inner lining of the heart caused by bacteria. It occurs when bacteria from another part of your body travel through the blood and attach to damaged areas of your heart. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat bacterial endocarditis.

Pharyngitis/Tonsilitis

Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in the throat and tonsils. If this infection affects both the throat and the tonsils, then it would be called pharyngotonsillitis. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and/or pharyngotonsillitis.

Typhoid fever

Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection caused by Salmonella Typhi. This bacteria is spread through contaminated food or water by a human carrier. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat typhoid fever.

Pyelonephritis

Pyelonephritis is the swelling of the kidneys due to bacterial infection. This infection starts in your urethra or bladder and spreads through the ureters to the kidneys. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is used to treat Pyelonephritis. You will start feeling better within a few days after taking Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT.

Allergic reaction

Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is likely to cause severe allergic reactions in some people. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or breathing difficulties.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT, even if the condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, make an appointment to consult your doctor.

Diarrhoea

Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Get emergency medical help if you experience severe diarrhoea that is watery or bloody. Call your pharmacist/doctor before taking anti-diarrhoeal medication.

Driving or operating machinery

Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT may cause dizziness, confusion, or fits in some people. Do not drive a vehicle or operate machinery after taking this medicine.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT. And if a dose is skipped, do not add it up to the next dose.

Mononucleosis

Mononucleosis is also called as kissing disease is an infection caused by Epstein-Barr virus. It is spread through saliva. People with mononucleosis may develop a maculopapular skin rash (flat and small raised bumps on the skin) after 5-10 days of treatment with Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT and resolves within days of discontinuing the use. Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT may not be appropriate medicine in patients with mononucleosis.

Colitis

Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Therefore use Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT with extreme caution in patients with gastrointestinal (mouth to anus) diseases, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon), since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Kidney Disease

Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is filtered by the kidney and moved out of the body through urine. Patients with kidney diseases need special consideration while taking Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT due to the risk of kidney damage. Dose adjustment should be done based on the clinical condition.

Urine Sugar Test

Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT is moved out from the body via urine. High urine concentrations of Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT might give a false-positive result for the urine sugar test (test to determine the presence of glucose). Inform your doctor or lab technician about the use of Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT before doing this test.
Amoxi tablet is used to treat bacterial infections. Take Nodimox 250 MG Tablet DT with or without food. Never take more than the prescribed dose. Take this tablet DT at around the same time daily. Do not give your medicine to other people even if their condition appears to be the same as yours.
