Description
CPZ 200 mg Tablet is an antipsychotic medicine that is used for the treatment of schizophrenia (a mental condition that is characterised by disturbed thinking, emotions, perception, sense of self, and behaviour) or other psychotic disorders such as paranoia (perception or suspicion often related to persecution, threat, or conspiracy), mania (abnormally and persistently overactive behaviour and extreme changes in mood or emotions), and hypomania (increased energy and excitability) in adults. CPZ 200 mg Tablet is used to treat severe behaviour problems such as anxiety, agitation, violent or dangerously impulsive behaviour, and hyperactivity in children 1 to 12 years of age. This medicine is also used for nausea and vomiting (10 to 25mg when other drugs have failed or are not available), prolonged hiccups (25 to 50mg), and acute intermittent porphyria, the build-up of a substance called porphyrin in the body that mainly affects the skin or nervous system (25 to 50mg). CPZ 200 mg Tablet may cause some side effects like dizziness, drowsiness restlessness, nervousness, dry mouth, constipation, trouble sleeping, weight gain, etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects bother you for a long time or become severe. CPZ 200 mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will determine the dose and duration of treatment based on your clinical condition. Take it every day at the same time for the ease of remembering. Avoid taking more than the prescribed dose as it may lead to side effects. CPZ 200 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medicines or have other medical conditions before starting the treatment. Allergy

Bone marrow depression

CPZ 200 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you have bone marrow depression as it may cause a further decrease in blood counts.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma refers to increased intraocular pressure (pressure within your eyes) due to blocked drainage canals in your eyes. It may damage the optic nerve in the eyes and eventually lead to vision loss. CPZ 200 mg Tablet is not recommended for use in such cases as it can worsen your condition.

General warnings

Tardive dyskinesia

Tardive dyskinesia is a neurological condition with repetitive, involuntary body movements. CPZ 200 mg Tablet should be used with caution if you have tardive dyskinesia as it may further worsen your condition.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a condition in which there is an increase in blood sugar levels. CPZ 200 mg Tablet should be used with caution if you have diabetes as it may reduce the effect of antidiabetic medicines in controlling your blood sugar levels. Your doctor may suggest regular monitoring of your blood sugar levels during treatment with this medicine.

Withdrawal symptoms

Do not stop taking CPZ 200 mg Tablet without consulting your doctor, as abrupt discontinuation may cause withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, sleeping difficulty, etc. The treatment should be withdrawn gradually under the close supervision of your doctor.

Driving or operating machines

CPZ 200 mg Tablet may cause drowsiness or dizziness in some cases. Hence, avoid performing activities such as driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of CPZ 200 mg Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose
