Description
Dronis 30 Tablet is a combination of Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol. It is used as an oral contraceptive to prevent unwanted pregnancy. It works by preventing the fertilization of the egg. Dronis 30 Tablet may cause some side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, weight change, irregular periods, slight bleeding between periods, breast tenderness, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Avoid smoking during treatment with Dronis 30 Tablet as it may increase the risk of blood clots, heart attack, or stroke (brain damage due to the interrupted blood supply to the brain). Dronis 30 Tablet is a prescription medicine. Take this medicine as instructed by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day for the ease of remembering. Make sure you do not miss a dose, as you are more likely to become pregnant in such cases. Dronis 30 Tablet should be avoided if you have heart, liver, or kidney problems, stroke, untreated or uncontrolled high blood pressure, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, or liver, breast, or uterus/cervix cancer. Inform your doctor if you have other medical conditions to make sure this medicine is safe for you. Dronis 30 Tablet is not recommended in women yet to achieve menarche (the first occurrence of menstruation) or after menopause (the end of the menstrual cycles). It is not recommended for use if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding.

Allergy

Avoid taking Dronis 30 Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, hives (itchy, painful eruptions that sting), itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, difficulty breathing, etc.

Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding

Dronis 30 Tablet is not recommended for use if you experience episodes of abnormal vaginal bleeding that has not been diagnosed, as this medicine may worsen your condition.

Heart and blood vessel disorder

Dronis 30 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have any heart or blood vessels disorders such as Deep Vein Thrombosis (blood clots that form in the deep veins of the body, usually in the thigh or lower leg), pulmonary embolism (blood clots that block one or more arteries in the lung), recent heart attack, stroke (a condition that occurs due to reduced blood supply to the brain), other blood clotting disorders, etc. Taking this medicine may worsen your condition.

Estrogen-dependent tumor

Dronis 30 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have or have had cancer that is attributed to abnormal levels of the hormone oestrogen in your body such as breast or uterus cancer.

Liver disease or tumour

Dronis 30 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have liver problems or liver tumour, as it may further worsen your condition.

Uncontrolled hypertension

Dronis 30 Tablet may cause an increase in blood pressure. Hence, it is not recommended for use if you have untreated or uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure) as it may further worsen your condition.

Kidney Disease

Dronis 30 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have kidney problems due to the increased risk of hyperkalaemia (high blood potassium levels). This may further worsen your condition.

Migraine with Aura

A migraine with aura is a severe headache that occurs along with other symptoms such as dizziness, ringing in the ears, sensitivity to light, other vision changes, loss of muscle control, etc. Dronis 30 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have migraine, especially migraine with aura, as it may worsen your condition. It may also increase the risk of stroke.

Dronis 30 Tablet is unsafe for use during pregnancy. It should be withdrawn immediately if pregnancy occurs.

Breast-feeding

Dronis 30 Tablet is not recommended for use while breastfeeding as small amounts of this medicine may pass into breastmilk. It may also reduce milk production. Hence, consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
General warnings

Breast cancer

Dronis 30 Tablet should be used with caution as it may increase the risk of breast cancer.

Jaundice

Dronis 30 Tablet may cause jaundice (a condition that causes skin and the whites of the eyes to turn yellow) due to its effects on liver function. Report the presence of any symptoms such as yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes, fever, chills, dark-coloured urine or clay-coloured stool, etc., to your doctor on priority. The use of this medicine should be stopped in such cases.

Abnormalities in vision

Dronis 30 Tablet has been associated with partial or complete loss of vision in some rare cases. Any abnormalities in vision should be promptly reported to your doctor. Special precautions should be taken if you are using contact lenses.

Use in women

Dronis 30 Tablet is only intended for use after menarche (the first occurrence of menstruation) and above 14 years of age. It is not intended for use after menopause (the end of the menstrual cycles in women).

Smoking

Avoid smoking during treatment with Dronis 30 Tablet as it may increase the risk of blood clots, heart attack, or stroke (brain damage due to the interrupted blood supply to the brain).

Depression

Dronis 30 Tablet should be used with caution as it may cause depression. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts.

Melasma

Melasma refers to a skin condition that causes brown or gray patches, especially on the face. Use of Dronis 30 Tablet may occasionally cause melasma. Hence, avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet radiation and wear protective clothing while going out in the sun.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Dronis 30 Tablet, contact your doctor immediately for further instructions. The instructions may vary based on the day and the doses you have missed. The possibility of pregnancy should be considered at the first missed period, and the medicine should be discontinued on confirmation of pregnancy.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical attention in case of an overdose of Dronis 30 Tablet.
