Description
Duofilm Solution is a combination of Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid. This medicine softens and loosens the dry, scaly, or thickened skin, which causes shedding of the outer layer of the skin. Duofilm Solution is used in the treatment of warts (small raised bumps on the surface of your skin) and corns and calluses (thick, hardened layers of skin). Duofilm Solution may rarely cause irritation, burning/tingling sensation of your skin at the site of application. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Duofilm Solution should be applied externally to the affected part of your skin as directed by your doctor. Continue using this medicine for the prescribed duration to effectively treat your condition. Do not apply Duofilm Solution to your face, armpits, breasts, genital area or the healthy skin surrounding the affected area as this medicine may cause severe skin irritation. Duofilm Solution should be avoided if you are allergic to it. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are planning a pregnancy, consult your doctor before using this medication.

Other medicines

Duofilm Solution may interact with other medicines meant for topical use (external use). Concomitant use of this medicine and other medicines for external use on the same area of your skin should therefore be avoided. Inform your doctor about all the topical preparations (ointments/lotions/gels) that you may have been using to avoid undesired side effects.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a condition with high blood sugar levels. Duofilm Solution is not recommended for use if you are diabetic or have blood circulation problems (conditions that cause a reduced blood supply to your hands or feet).

Duofilm Solution is meant for external use on the affected part of your skin only. Use this medicine as directed by your doctor. Do not use it in large quantities. Do not apply Duofilm Solution onto the healthy skin surrounding the affected area (warts, corns, calluses) as this medicine may cause severe skin irritation. In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water. Use Duofilm Solution at around the same time every day for the ease of remembrance. Do not discontinue the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor. Plantar warts should be covered with adhesive plaster after application of Duofilm Solution. However, consult your doctor for the appropriate choice of dressing. Do not give Duofilm Solution to others even if their condition appears to be the same as yours.
