Description
Nosikind 0.1% Drops consists of Xylometazoline. It is used to treat nasal congestion (stuffy nose) caused by allergies, sinusitis (swelling of the sinus), or the common cold. This medicine works by narrowing the blood vessels in your nasal passages. This helps to relieve stuffiness in your nose. Nosikind 0.1% Drops may cause side effects such as dryness in the nose, temporary irritation or burning sensation, sneezing, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen.  Nosikind 0.1% Drops is meant for nasal use only. Gently blow your nose before administering the medicine. Use this medicine as directed by your doctor. Do not stop using this medicine without consulting your doctor, as your symptoms could reoccur. Nosikind 0.1% Drops should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes or heart, thyroid, or prostate problems before beginning treatment with this medicine. Close evaluation with respect to your current medicines is necessary to avoid any undesired effects. If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medication.

Allergy

Avoid using Nosikind 0.1% Drops if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.

Trans-nasal Transsphenoidal Surgery

Nosikind 0.1% Drops is not recommended for use if you have recently undergone trans-nasal transsphenoidal surgery (surgery to remove the pituitary tumor where the procedure is carried out through the nose).

Narrow angle glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions in which the optic nerve (the nerve connecting the eye to the brain) is damaged, usually due to high pressure within the eyeballs. Eventually, it may lead to vision loss. Narrow-angle glaucoma occurs due to the blockage of the drainage canals (the structure inside the eye that allows fluid to drain normally from the eye) causing increased pressure inside the eye. Nosikind 0.1% Drops is not recommended for use if you have narrow-angle glaucoma as it may further worsen your condition.

Breast-feeding

General warnings

Heart disease

Nosikind 0.1% Drops should be used with caution if you have heart problems. Prolonged use of this medicine may cause alteration in your blood pressure and heart rate and worsen your condition.

Thyroid gland disorder

Hyperthyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland makes too much thyroid hormone (a chemical substance that regulates the body's metabolism, digestive function, brain development, bone maintenance, etc). Nosikind 0.1% Drops should be used with caution if you have hyperthyroidism due to an increased risk of undesired effects.

Missed Dose

Administer the missed dose of Nosikind 0.1% Drops as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. Do not administer a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Never use more than the prescribed dose. Consult your doctor in case of an overdose of Nosikind 0.1% Drops.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is an enlargement of the prostate gland leading to urinary problems like difficulty in urination, increased frequency, weak urine stream, etc. Nosikind 0.1% Drops should be used with caution if you have benign prostatic hyperplasia as it may worsen your symptoms.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a condition with high blood sugar levels. Prolonged use of Nosikind 0.1% Drops may cause a slight increase in your blood sugar levels. Hence, it should be used with caution if you have diabetes. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly during treatment with this medicine. Also, avoid taking more than the recommended dose of Nosikind 0.1% Drops.
