Description
Novastat CV 20 Capsule is a combination of Rosuvastatin and Clopidogrel. It is used orally to reduce the level of bad cholesterol and fats in the body. High levels of cholesterols and fats increase the risk of heart attack and stroke (decreased blood flow to your brain). This medicine works by reducing the formation of cholesterols and fats in your body and decreasing the formation of harmful blood clots. Novastat CV 20 Capsule shows some common side effects like stomach pain, indigestion, constipation and headache. Consult your doctor if you are feeling tired, do not feel hungry, or if you have yellow eyes or skin and weakness, particularly if it is accompanied by fever. Novastat CV 20 Capsule increases the risk of bleeding in your body. Therefore, be careful while using sharp objects or doing any work that has a risk of causing damage to the skin. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Novastat CV 20 Capsule can be taken with or without food. Take this medicine at the same time every day for ease of remembering and to avoid missing the dose. Do not stop taking the dosages, even when you feel better. Novastat CV 20 Capsule can interact with other medications and health conditions. Share your entire medical history such as kidney or liver problems, bleeding disorder, etc., with your doctor. You should also inform your doctor about all the other medicines you are taking. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding.

Allergy

General warnings

Cognitive impairment

Novastat CV 20 Capsule may cause forgetfulness, memory loss, confusion, etc. These side effects are reversible and usually disappear once the medicine is discontinued.

Myopathy and Rhabdomyolysis

Novastat CV 20 Capsule may cause myopathy (muscle pain) and rhabdomyolysis (a very serious condition in which damaged muscle fibres enter the bloodstream, leading to kidney failure) in some people. This may cause symptoms such as severe tiredness and weakness. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in people with active muscle disorders.

Alcohol consumption

Novastat CV 20 Capsule may cause liver and kidney injuries if you consume alcohol very frequently and in large quantities. Hence, consumption of alcohol should be avoided during treatment with this medicine.

Discontinuation of Clopidogrel

Sudden discontinuation of Novastat CV 20 Capsule may increase the risk of heart problems. If treatment is interrupted for surgery or an incident of severe bleeding, it should be restarted as soon as possible.

Use in pediatrics

Since the safety and efficacy of Novastat CV 20 Capsule use are not clinically established, this medicine may be used in children below 18 years of age only under the close supervision of your doctor. Do not use this medicine in children below 6 years of age.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take a Novastat CV 20 Capsule dose, make sure that you remember to take your next dose on time. Do not take two doses together to make up for a forgotten dose.

Overdose

How it works
Novastat CV 20 Capsule is a combination of Rosuvastatin and Clopidogrel. Rosuvastatin reduces the production of cholesterol from the liver and reduces the levels of bad cholesterol (VLDL and LDL) and fats (triglycerides) in the blood. Clopidogrel works by preventing the formation of clots in blood vessels and helps in free blood flow.
