Description
Odoxil 500 MG Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of conditions caused by bacteria like infections of the skin, throat and urinary tract. This medicine is not recommended for use in case of a common cold, flu or other viral infections since it is active against infections caused by bacteria only.

General warnings

Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhea

Antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora of the large intestine, which may promote the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium difficile and you may experience severe diarrhea as a result. Report any such incidence to the doctor on priority and avoid usage of this medicine in such cases.

Impaired kidney function

This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from kidney diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of kidney function tests is necessary while receiving this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Drug-resistance

Usage of this medicine without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of developing bacteria that are drug-resistant.

Driving or operating machinery

This medicine may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, tiredness, etc. in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
