Description
TG-TOR EZ TABLET is a combination of Atorvastatin and Ezetimibe. It is used to decrease the bad cholesterol (LDL) and fats (triglycerides) in your body. High cholesterol increases the risk of heart attack and stroke. This medicine blocks the formation of cholesterol in your body and prevents the absorption of cholesterol through the small intestine. The common side effects of TG-TOR EZ TABLET use are headache, nausea, vomiting, constipation and stomach pain. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worsen. Avoid taking this medicine if you are previously allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you notice signs of liver problems such as stomach pains, unusually dark urine or yellowing of your skin or eyes. Notify your doctor if you experience muscle pain or weakness, particularly if it is accompanied by fever. You can take TG-TOR EZ TABLET with or without food. Even if you feel well, do not stop this medicine on your own. If you stop taking it, your condition may get worse and can be hard to treat. Try not to skip the TG-TOR EZ TABLET dose and avoid an overdose of this medicine. To make sure TG-TOR EZ TABLET is safe for you, share your entire medical and medication history with your doctor. This medicine is not recommended for use in children. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding.

Allergy

Avoid taking TG-TOR EZ TABLET if you were previously allergic to it. Seek an immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulties, etc.

Active liver disease

TG-TOR EZ TABLET is converted into its active form by liver. The presence of the liver disease may impair the conversion of this medicine into its active form thus leading to the accumulation of this medicine in your liver. This accumulation may worsen your liver condition. Hence, TG-TOR EZ TABLET is not recommended for use if you have active liver diseases.

General warnings

Cognitive impairment

TG-TOR EZ TABLET may cause forgetfulness, memory loss, and confusion. These symptoms usually disappear gradually once the use of the medicine is discontinued.

Increase in blood sugar levels

TG-TOR EZ TABLET may cause an increase in your blood sugar levels. It is recommended to closely monitor your blood sugar levels.

Alcohol consumption

TG-TOR EZ TABLET may cause liver and kidney related problems if you consume alcohol very frequently in large quantities during treatment with this medicine.

Coumarin Anticoagulants

TG-TOR EZ TABLET should be used with extreme caution while receiving coumarin anticoagulants such as warfarin due to the increased risk of excessive bleeding.

Use in Children

TG-TOR EZ TABLET is not recommended for use in children less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take a TG-TOR EZ TABLET dose, make sure that you remember to take your next dose on time. Do not take two doses together to make up for a forgotten dose.

Overdose

Never take TG-TOR EZ TABLET more than the prescribed dose. If you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of this medicine, go to the emergency department of your local hospital.

Caution should be exercised while taking TG-TOR EZ TABLET if you are diabetic (presence of high blood sugar levels). This medicine may alter your blood sugar levels. Your doctor may advise you to monitor the blood sugar levels frequently while you are on TG-TOR EZ TABLET.

Rhabdomyolysis

Caution should be exercised while taking TG-TOR EZ TABLET if you have rhabdomyolysis. Rhabdomyolysis is a condition in which damaged muscle fibres enter your bloodstream, leading to kidney failure.
Food interactions
Consumption of grapefruit juice is not recommended during treatment with TG-TOR EZ TABLET due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. These side effects may include muscle pain and weakness, fever, chills, swelling of joints, skin rash, nausea, vomiting, etc.

How it works
TG-TOR EZ TABLET is a combination of Atorvastatin and Ezetimibe. Atorvastatin acts on an enzyme responsible for the low levels of cholesterol in your blood. Ezetimibe works by reducing or stopping the absorption of cholesterol through your small intestine. Their combination is thus better effective than monotherapy for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia.
