Description
Uriliser Solution is a combination of Potassium Citrate and Citric Acid. It is used to treat metabolic acidosis (a condition with high acid levels in your body). It is also used for the prevention and treatment of kidney stones and gout (pain and swelling in joints due to accumulation of uric acid). It works by reducing acid levels in your body and making your urine less acidic. Uriliser Solution may cause side effects such as upset stomach, diarrhoea, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or if they become severe. Uriliser Solution should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of this medicine in your body. Uriliser Solution should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have heart or kidney problems before taking this medicine. Close evaluation with respect to your current medicines is necessary to avoid any undesired side effects. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding before taking Uriliser Solution.

Severe kidney disease

Severe kidney disease is a condition with a loss of kidney function. Uriliser Solution is not recommended if you have pre-existing kidney problems such as azotemia (high blood levels of urea, creatinine), oliguria (reduced urine output), anuria (when your kidneys stop producing urine). This medicine is eliminated by kidneys and when used during these conditions, it may increase your risk of hyperkalaemia (high blood potassium levels) and heart rhythm problems due to the accumulation of this medicine in your body.

Addison's disease

Addison's disease is a condition that occurs when the adrenal gland (the gland located above your kidneys) does not function properly, resulting in reduced levels of hormones, cortisol, and aldosterone. It is characterized by symptoms of extreme weakness, loss of weight, and low blood pressure. Uriliser Solution is not recommended if you have this condition due to severe side effects.

Hyperkalaemia

Hyperkalaemia is a condition of high blood potassium levels. Uriliser Solution is not recommended as it may further increase your blood potassium levels and may cause heart rhythm problems.

Allergy

Avoid Uriliser Solution if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of your face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.

Heart diseases

Uriliser Solution is not recommended if you have a history of heart problems such as irregular heart rhythm, heart failure, etc due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.
