I took her to the local clinic in our village, where she was seen by quick in a private clinic. Savita was treated with various injections for a week. I didn't know what medicines she was given or why they were given. There was no treatment card or documentation.
Instead of getting better, my daughter's condition worsened. I was told there was nothing more that could be done at the local clinic and to take Savita to a private hospital in Hajipur. There, my daughter was admitted. The doctor prescribed many blood tests and X-rays, which cost 55,000 INR. Savita was admitted for about 10 days. She received many medicines, but she kept getting worse. Finally, the doctor told me that Savita had an infection in the brain. He told me he couldn't help Savita anymore. He advised me to take her to another private hospital where they could help her. Again, Savita was admitted for another week. I had to pay another 50,000 INR for the care. I am a widow, my husband died 15 years ago, and I have no income. To afford all these medical expenditures, I had to loan money. In the end, I could not afford the costs anymore. As my daughter was not getting any better, I had no other choice but to bring her home again.
One of my relatives advised me to take Savita to a higher government hospital in Patna. We were seen by a medical doctor in the Emergency Department. This doctor told us there was nothing that could be done there and advised us to bring her to the state referral hospital. In this hospital, Savita was admitted, and tests were done again. This is where we found out that my daughter was HIV positive. Savita continued to be very sick. One of the nurses spoke to me. She said, "Even if you sell all your properties, you can't save your child." She also told me, "This is Chua Chut Bimari (a disease spread by touching), and I should bring my child back home and not tell anybody about the HIV." I did as the nurse advised me.I took my daughter back to see the private doctor in Noida. The doctor Rajeev asked to see the medical documentation from the state referral hospital. When the doctor saw that Savita had tested positive for HIV, he told me to take her to Nidan mother and child care Now, we are here.

We reached Manisha Ma'am for second opinion at 35th week of my pregnancy, after my then consulting doctor started rushing us for C-section and we got to know from a friend that she is expert with NVD, so we wanted to have her opinion with our case, g...Read moreWe reached Manisha Ma'am for second opinion at 35th week of my pregnancy, after my then consulting doctor started rushing us for C-section and we got to know from a friend that she is expert with NVD, so we wanted to have her opinion with our case, given my reports, if there is a chance for NVD or c-section is the only way to deliver. We were very disappointed at that time with our consulting doctor, as through our entire pregnancy journey we got the assurance that it will be NVD and towards the end of third trimester as body parameters start to change many doctors start panicking and suggest c-section as the only way out. However once we consulted doctor Manisha, all our apprehensions were alleviated, she is an excellent counselor. From our first meeting itself she instilled us with confidence that she has delivered other patients also with even more deranged body parameters naturally, and to increase our confidence she made us talk to one of her old patient.
Post the first meet, she asked us to visit three more times and she insisted on pregnancy to reach atleast 37 weeks to avoid any complications with the baby's development. While our previous doctor was forcing us to get c-section and steroids for baby because according to her pregnancy shouldn't go beyond 36 weeks otherwise it is going to be harmful for baby.
In our 3 visits she mentally and physically prepared me for delivery and I was induced at the end of 37th week. She kept a check during entire labor process as I had a long labor, and finally I delivered naturally. It was a beautiful experience for me and by husband to be in the labor room with baby. My baby was healthy and immediately shifted to my room. I couldn't thank her enough for the Godly role she played in our lives and provided us hope when there wasn't any. Post delivery also she guided us on what to expect mentally and physically, how family can support mother in post natal phase. She literally means it when she says, she wants to bring down the rate of c-section, because after my own experience I realise that in maximum cases c-section isn't even necessary but many doctors force it on us for their comfort. Even during labor when I started to lose hope, if I would be able to do it, she kept saying c-section is just a 5 minute thing and it can be done any time, which gave me confidence to continue with labor.
Thanks a lot doctor for providing quality healthcare and abling women like me with bodily autonomy at such crucial time. Read less

From day one she made me feel so comfortable. She helped me and my husband understand and enjoy every moment of our pregnancy. She educated us, asked us to research things we weren’t sure about and encouraged us to ask questions.
I had a high risk pregnancy, but she made the whole 9 months, my labour, delivery & postpartum a BREEZE. She guided me well & helped me have a normal delivery. She literally had me SINGING and LAUGHING while she was stitching me up 🙈
Dr Manisha was not just my doctor but also a counsellor and a coach. She always motivated me to work out, eat healthy and stay as fit as possible.
She helped structure & fully supported my birth plan and made it a reality.
I call/whatsapp her anytime I have questions or doubts and I get quick replies and good suggestions. She always gives me great advice and also counselled me on postpartum care, breastfeeding and postpartum depression.
It’s alway a pleasure to meet her and I look forward to our appointments cause it’s a positive experience and I get to learn something new everytime.
