Blood in stool is detected either by normal bleeding observed while passing the stool or on a tissue paper. By doing a stool routine test, which confirms either frank or occult blood. Other tests such as gastroesophagealscopy or colonoscopy is used to determine the root cause of bleeding. CBC is performed to check for anaemia due to blood loss.
