In 2012, I completed my Bachelor's in Physiotherapy (B.P.T) from Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore and moved from Mangalore back to my home-town Mumbai to start my journey of practicing as a Physiotherapist and registered myself as a Member of Indian Association of Physiotherapists (M.I.A.P)I started off in July, 2012 with Leonard Cheshire home (London based NGO), as a Physiotherapist in a multi-disciplinary approach, working with a team of social workers, speech therapist and special educators. My job was identifying the disability from the grass-root level, referral to the required doctors, creating disability certificates and prescription of orthotic devices to prosthesis. I worked in slums, where my job consisted of sensitization; In schools, I worked to encourage inclusion of kids with disability in normal schools and in the Municipal Corporation, conducting work-shops for caregivers and nurses in thane municipal corporation and all of this was my major role as a Physiotherapist at the Rehab Centre. In 2013, I worked with Jupiter Hospital Cerebral Palsy (CP) Clinic. My job consisted right from being the Clinical Co-ordinator to conducting assessments and Gait analysis of kids with Cerebral Palsy (CP). I worked with Dr. Taral Nagda, renowned Paediatric Ortho-Surgeon and gained experience under him to treat different cases like CTEV, Genu Valgum ,Genu Varum and other Paediatric Orthopedic conditions. As a part of the clinic we also conducted free camps for all Special schools which included Paediatric, Neurological, Orthopedic, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy consultation .We also had motivational cultural events to encourage kids with special needs. In course of time, I developed interest in Cerebral Palsy (CP) and I completed courses that would keep me updated with CP along with certifications in Kinesiotapping and Movement lessons. I learned effect of Botox on percutaneous myofacial release surgery. In 2014, I took up major scoliosis cases and worked on a 60 degree thoracic scoliosis which seemed impossible.“Never to lose hope” & “Nothing is impossible” being my motto, in 2015 I established “Movement 360” my own clinic with its Tag line – “Redefining Abilities”. The Doctor comes across as a well-informed person in her area of speciality. The attitude of the Doctor is Positive and also that of very very caring human being. The Doctor believes in giving personal attention to every patient and that very much reflects in her work. My mother could stand on her feet and thereafter walk in no time after a Hip replacement, only due to the Doctor's Physiotherapy sessions. Our CP child has been able to achieve a good number of milestones, only due to the Doctor's tireless efforts...
