Visited Dr. Bimal John (Laparoscopic Surgeon (Obs & Gyn))
Hi there, I would like to start saying that I don't write reviews nearly ever. However, in this case I have to as I found Dr.Bimal John through Google search and wanted to share the experience as it can help others too. He works at Credence Hospital, Trivandrum.
I visited him for my Endometriosis & Adenomyosis treatment, and I must say I met him while I was in a bad shape as this disease was affecting me both physically and mentally and I was ready for my Hysterectomy. However, Dr. Bimal suggested alternate treatment options which made my life better from March 2023. He was very approachable, friendly, and takes time to explain everything but the most important thing was he listened to all my concerns patiently and he is a reliable professional on his area of expertise. He recommends surgery only when it is really required.
He is an exceptional doctor who genuinely cares about his patients as I never met a doctor in these years during my Endo journey who continuously follow up about your health post treatment & also reachable for any query. If you are looking for a doctor in Kerala who is an expert in Endometriosis and other Gynae issues then Dr.Bimal John is the one. I highly endorse him.

Pros:
- Very experienced doctor
- Will try for a natural birth as much as possible
- Dr Shantama the hospital, so can take a lot of independent calls
- Not money minded
- Post delivery care is very good
- Consultation fee is nominal
Cons:
- Walk-ins will have to have to wait for a long time
- You might have to wait even if you have taken an appointment
- On weekends and holidays there will be lot of patients in the waiting area to see her
Suggestions:
- Would recommend to take the appointment well in advance, if possible
- For all follow-up consultations, carry all your records with you. The doctor has all the details but it will take time to find from her system
Details:
Dr. Shanthamma was recommended to us by one of my wife’s cousin, who had three child births at Credence Hospital and was very satisfied by the experience. My wife started consulting Dr. Shanthamma, on the 20th week of pregnancy with twins. She is a celebrity doctor and director of Credence Hospital, but still she is a very knowledgeable and down to earth person. She is very genuine and would never suggest any extra procedures for money sake.
Before visiting her, we had consulted a doctor at Apollo Hospital, Bangalore, who suggested that the cervix should be stitched as a general procedure (even if there is no issue). Luckily we took second opinion and got to know that it was an unnecessary procedure and is required for rare cases. Dr. Shanthamma treated my wife with utmost care and attention to small details. She never rushed to any conclusions. When we had consulted another gynecologist in Bangalore, she suggested that a C-section surgery should be performed on 26th week of pregnancy and babies should be kept in neo natal care till full-term(around 6 weeks). Unlike them Dr. Shanthamma gave us advice that no neo natal care would be better than a mother’s womb. Taking her advice, we decided to wait full-term and had c-section delivery at 32 weeks. Only and only because of her amazing expertise my kids were born with very healthy weight and didn’t have be in natal care at all. They also didn’t have any bilirubin issues.
She suggested my wife to take a medicine to avoid early contractions, which really helped later on. At 28th week, my wife had mild pain, unlike other hospitals/doctors where they would have immediately done a c-section, Dr. Shanthamma gave same mild medicines to minimize symptoms and send my wife home after few hours.
Her experience in handling the most critical situations is amazing. Being new to-be parents, we were over cautious about everything and had million doubts. She made us feel at home and addresses all doubts with ease. Even after being a Public figure, she gives attention to each and every patient. On the day of delivery, my wife was quite scared and requested for the first surgery of the day, which was considered and scheduled accordingly. Everything went fine and my wife and kids were discharged on the third day, unlike some hospitals where they would not discharge for days for extra money. I cannot say enough great things about her.
We will always be thankful for making our first child birth experience eventful and giving our children good health.
My twin boys were born at Credence Hospital and Dr. Moumita was appointed as their pediatrician. She took utmost care with my lil ones and visited morning and evening to check on their health. Being new parents we were quite skeptical about early parenthood like how to hold babies, how to feed them, in which intervals should we feed them and the quantity of feeds etc. She took time for each of our question and gave us detail explanations . There were some doubts which we asked multiple times, instead of getting annoyed, she smiled and answers them each time. She took us step by step, to check lactose tolerance level for each baby, which really helped us later. She even wrote down, how to make feeds for babies and in which quantity. Her support really helped us in our early days of parenthood.
She showed us different ways of swaddling and made sure we understood it correctly. Post discharge, the next visit was after 2 years, when we went for vaccination, she was every friendly and gave us proper advice on child diet. She explained, how we should change from Lactogen to cow’s milk. She also explained with a chart about balancing right amount of nutrients necessary for child development. She is very patient and explains everything and shares her own experience.
Credence Hospital has Pediatric section a bit isolated from general patients, ensuring kids don’t interact with other sick patients . The big fish tank at the waiting room kept my kids entertained till our turn.
I would highly recommend Dr. Moumita , as she is quite friendly and knowledgeable.
