8year old diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes
My cousin who is 8 years old have been diagnosed with diabetes. His reports are: BSR:377, Blood sugar fasting: 248, pp: 594. Doctor has advised to take insulin for lifetime. is there any other treatment available which can help to eliminate this or control the diabetes? Both mother and father of this child are diabetic.

Diabetes at this age is usually type 1 DM for which currently insulin is the only treatment available. His both parents being Diabetic, type 2 DM is a rare possibility which can be controlled with oral medicines.
