Bera test fails
My 40 days old baby initially failed screening test (OAE).Then we were advised for BERA .The waves showed 55- 60% hearing impairment .the test can't be completed as the baby was restless. Our ENT recommended to repeat BERA at 3rd month & 6th month.Shal I expect any improvement at that time..I have heard that hearing development continues till 1.5 age

Please go ahead as advised for repeat BERA at 3 and 6 months..... Hearing may or may not improve....Do not wait for more than 6 months.... Even the WHO prescribes early intervention by age of 6months which could be a hearing aid or a Cochlear Implant....Do not wait till 1.5 yrs as it will affect ur child's ability to learn speech and language... I REPEAT DO NOT DELAY
