Borderline Glaucoma
I have been diagnosed as borderline Glaucoma. I have allergic rhinitis symptoms. Can I use either Furamist AZ or Nasonex nasal Spray as advised by my ENT specialist. Earlier Furamist AZ has given me relief for allergic symptoms. I need to avoid steroids for Glaucoma. Please advise.

Hi .. You can use Furamist ..but be sure you use it for a short period of time ..like 1/2 weeks, not for longer period of time or on a continuous basis. If you need to use it for a longer period..get the eye pressure checked ...the people who have glaucoma ..one third of them may be steroid responders. For them also short bursts of steroids is ok , long term use not recommended or under doctors supervision.

It's better to avoid Furamist. Follow up regularly with your Ophthalmologist for glaucoma evaluation and/or progress.
