Hello, Osteophytes are basically small bony growth/bone deposition on the joint edges where there's loss of bone/cartilage. It is body's natural mechanism to stabilize the joint in cases of damaged joint. They can be painless or painful and restricting the joint by stabilizing it more. So if it's very acute/intolerable pain, take anti-inflammatory and pain killer. This would be first line management. Also vit. D and calcium are essential. For the long term, strengthening of your neck and upper back, incorporated with neck stretches and posture correction would be very helpful. Let me know if you have any more queries related the same.
