Constipation
My 19 months son is having constipation from last 20 days. We have him stool softener from last 5 days which did not help him at all. Then doctor asked us to insert some tablet on anus which helped him temporarily, but he is still trying hard to motion an d sometimes he can't potty. Can you please advise some.medication.

It's a common problem at this age. Usually due to low fiber in the diet. Increase intake of fruits, leafy vegetables and water should help. Medicines are used temporarily till proper diet is implemented. If the child has blood in stools or distension of abdomen or loosing weight see your nearest Pediatric Surgeon.
