Diet issues
Hi doctor, my baby is 1.8 years old and she is around 12-13kgs. She is totally healthy, but from last 8-9 months she is not at all having proper diet. I had been to many doctors all said not to use any medicines to make her hungry. She won't even drink any fruit juices or water. Her diet is morning 1-2 idli and afternoon 2-3 spoons (small spoons) of rice or only curry and evening one banana that too we need to fight for 1-2 hrs for all these actions. Then night only cup of milk. That's it. Some times she may eat a small bowl of rice for dinner that weekly twice we can say. My wife is literally worries about her diet and she started to stop having food by thinking about my baby. Any advice suggestions please welcome. Thanks in advance have a great day.

Hi there, The most important thing is to see whether your baby is playful and cheerful or no.She needs to be active and if she is active you need not worry.Very important do not forcefully feed your baby in any case that will give her a reason to hate food.Just be calm and ask your wife to strike a conversation with your baby and in the meantime feed her something that is easy to chew on.Ask her what is her favourite, what is that she likes the most. While she is playing just coax her to eat a piece of fruit or something. She is just 1yr 8months old gradually she will start eating everything.Make sure that whenever you all have any meal sit together and eat in front of her, tell her how healthy and tasty it is.Also tell your wife not to get upset, try and make innovative recipes for her, decorate them well.Make them colourful so that she herself pounces on it :) Children love things which are colourful and appealing. Do not try to feed her an entire bowl of khichdi or rice, whatever she eats needs to be eaten happily. Make a better relationship with your baby and talk to her often she will be fine. All the best :)
