Does physical therapy help TMJD?
I have lower jaw pain, ear pain, pain under the right ear with Swelling in lower jaw for more than 2 months. Been to ENT, dentist, oral surgeon. No infection in sinus and ear. Dentist said it could be upper wisdom tooth or tooth crack in lower first molar#46. But he is not sure if I have a tooth crack/fracture. Told me to extract #46  it as RCT will not bw successful for crack.i didn't extract it yet. Now I have pain in side of neck with mild swelling and sore pain on top side of the head.Went to OS and removed upper wisdom tooth a month back.Still pain in lower jaw, ear, under ear, neck and top side of head. OS said it's TMJ pain and told me to try splint or physical therapy. Dentist said it's tooth crack issue. Couldn't get a proper answer yet. Does tooth crack cause pain in side of the neck, ear , head, lower jaw? I have continuous sore pain inside ear, under the ear, neck throughout day and night. My neck is swollen too.Do I need to extract the lower molar or try RCT? PT helps TMD?

Yes physiotherapy helps TMD..... Crack tooth syndrome can’t be differentiated in IoPA as there are no changes seen ..... Can’t comment on the treatment required unless the tooth is clinically seen..... If the crack is deep, then the tooth needs to get extracted ....
