Injection administration
Hi We have been advised by our doctor to get the injection Amikacin via IM given to our 11 month old baby, for getting this injection we have to go to the hospital or can we ask some one from nearby nursing home to give it. We dont want to go to hospital during these times of covid to avoid contact with many people

Giving IM many times is very painful for the kid. Instead get an intravenous line (iv) secured by putting the iv cannula at the hospital. Then any staff nurse near ur place can give the injection through it.
Next Steps
I M injection also needs to be given by someone who is experienced in that, otherwise there can be complications by that if not given correctly.

You cannt give IM as you are not trained for it...
Next Steps
just put intracath by doctor or nursing staff to your child, so that you can give iv amikacin easily through intracath and no pain...
