I have an iud (the Merina) and I've had it for about two years, well starting a month ago having sex was hurting like I was giving birth and now starting two days ago I've been spotting blood. It hurts when I cough and or sneeze. I have not had any sort of period since I've gotten the Merina. is this normal?

Yes this is the side effect of Merina. iIf you are sexually active then do pregnancy test either by urine or blood(Bhcg).It is reliable test.You have got urinary tract infection.After consulting with the gynaecologist take medicine.
